AA Pet Insurance has confirmed the continuation of its sponsorship partnership with the New Zealand Epilepsy Assist Dog Trust (NZEADT) until 2024.
The partnership will see the pet insurance company provide donations to fund the insurance premiums for eligible NZEADT dogs for the next 12 months. Any remaining funds will be used to support the NZEADT’s mission to help people with severe epilepsy achieve independence through the use of trained assistance dogs.
Established in 2007, the NZEADT is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing independence and security to people in New Zealand living with severe epilepsy. Andrea Hawkless, the founder of NZEADT, started the organisation after her son’s epilepsy showed little improvement despite medication and brain surgery. With no such organisation in New Zealand at the time, Andrea set up NZEADT to improve the lives of people living with severe epilepsy.
“It is incredibly rewarding for AA Pet Insurance to be able to provide NZEADT’s service dogs with cover against illness or injury, knowing that it will also give their owners some comfort and peace of mind should anything happen. We are delighted to continue the partnership and sponsorship model with NZEADT. Every time a customer takes out a policy, a contribution is made to this life-changing trust that gives people with epilepsy more independence and freedom,” said Jenni Ryan, AA Chief Marketing Officer.

Elsewhere in the industry, Kiwi energy provider Pulse Energy recently announced a collaboration with Cove Insurance to introduce pet insurance options to Pulse Energy customers.
