Income Insurance Revives Drive-In Dates with Comedy Show for EV Owners

Income Insurance has reintroduced drive-in dates as part of a new campaign aimed at raising awareness of electric vehicle (EV) adoption. The company hosted a unique, EV-only drive-in comedy show featuring local comedians Fadzri Rashid and Eugene Soh, offering a 70-minute performance that tackled everyday life in Singapore, driving habits, and common misconceptions about EVs with a humorous, distinctly Singaporean flair.

Fadzri, formerly known as Fakkah Fuzz, is a seasoned stand-up comedian with over a decade of experience. His credits include Netflix specials Almost Banned and Too Real, as well as his latest YouTube special, So, How?, which debuted on February 8 this year.

Eugene Soh, another notable comedian in Singapore’s burgeoning comedy scene, is known for his authentic style, charm, and wit. He has performed internationally, captivating audiences with his relatable humor.

“We’re using comedy as a way to highlight the challenges that EV car owners face today,” said Dhiren Amin, Chief Customer Officer at Income Insurance. “Many EV owners still need to purchase regular car insurance, which is almost laughable considering the vast differences between EVs and traditional vehicles. Comedy provides the perfect vehicle to shine a light on this issue.”

Amin emphasized that the comedy event aligns with Singapore’s push towards cleaner energy vehicles. The company aims to meet the unique insurance needs of EV owners as the market shifts toward sustainability.

The drive-in comedy show is an extension of Income Insurance’s “Between Two Chargers” campaign, which launched in January. The campaign featured Fakkah Fuzz and Eugene Soh in an advertisement to promote the company’s new eDrivo car insurance.

The ad, created in collaboration with BBH Singapore, showcased the two comedians discussing the perks of eDrivo car insurance in a scenic field. Notable features include emergency mobile rescue in the event of a battery running out on the road, as well as unlimited battery replacement following an accident.

“Insurance campaigns don’t always have to be serious,” Amin explained. “We wanted to take a refreshing approach with humor, using punchlines and ‘mic drop’ moments to cut through the noise. This campaign is our way of showing EV owners why eDrivo is the superior insurance choice, especially compared to traditional car insurance.
