A recent report by Igloo reveals that many Indonesians tend to purchase travel insurance at the last minute, with 40% securing coverage within zero to four days of departure. Additionally, 10% wait until the final 24 hours before booking insurance.
While international trips are the primary focus, a significant portion of domestic travelers also delay their insurance purchases. According to the report, 22% of domestic travelers buy insurance within zero to four days of their trip, and 8% wait until the last 24 hours.
The trend of last-minute travel insurance purchases is closely tied to a rising interest in international travel. Among insurance buyers, 80% of men and 90% of women purchase coverage for international trips.
Solo travel is also gaining traction, particularly among women, who account for 57% of solo travel insurance purchases, compared to 53% by men.
