Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance (Ping An P&C), a subsidiary of Ping An Insurance Group of China, has teamed up with FAW Hongqi Auto Sales to unveil the Hongqi Intelligent Driving Protection Services. This collaboration aims to enhance safety for travelers and support the rapid growth of the intelligent vehicle industry.
The new service focuses on providing comprehensive protection for intelligent vehicles, with both companies working to develop specialized insurance models. Key aspects of this initiative include the creation of a risk database and the upgrade of existing protection solutions tailored to emerging risks.
Ping An P&C has introduced the first full-scenario solution for intelligent driving, covering a wide range of potential liabilities and risks. This includes scenarios such as automated parking, remote control parking, valet parking, and cruise control in various traffic lane conditions.
A notable example of the service in action is the Hongqi Tian Gong 08, a new energy vehicle equipped with ultra-low-temperature battery technology. The vehicle is designed to maintain 93% of its battery capacity even at -10°C.
To address potential power battery failures in cold weather, Ping An P&C has created a compensation plan. This plan offers coverage for replacement vehicle costs while repairs are underway, providing additional peace of mind for owners.
