Manulife has announced the appointment of Steve Finch as President and CEO of Manulife Asia, effective May 9. Finch will succeed Phil Witherington, who will take on the role of President and CEO of Manulife globally, also beginning on the same date.
Currently serving as the company’s Chief Actuary, Finch has been a key member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership team since 2016. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in driving the company’s transformation and enhancing its financial performance, including overseeing significant transactions.
With 32 years of experience at Manulife, Finch has held various leadership positions, including Chief Financial Officer of John Hancock, Manulife’s US business, and General Manager of the US Life Insurance division. In these roles, he was instrumental in leading the business to market leadership in life insurance sales.
Manulife has also stated that an announcement regarding Finch’s successor as Chief Actuary will be made in the near future.
