Prudential Hong Kong has appointed Abhishek Kumar as Chief Risk Officer and Grace Lee as General Counsel, marking key leadership changes within the company.
Both executives will report directly to CEO Lawrence Lam and become part of the Hong Kong Executive Committee.
In his role as Chief Risk Officer, Kumar will oversee Prudential’s risk and compliance strategies, working to foster a risk-aware culture that supports the company’s growth objectives. He will also report to Avnish Kalra, Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at Prudential plc.
With over two decades of experience in insurance, risk management, and financial services advisory, Kumar brings valuable expertise to the role. Prior to joining Prudential, he was Head of the Insurance Practice in Hong Kong and Head of the APAC Actuarial Practice at KPMG. There, he led several initiatives focused on risk management, regulatory reporting, and technology-driven transformations. Kumar is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and holds an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.
Grace Lee, appointed General Counsel, will be responsible for all legal affairs, as well as the Company Secretary function. She will provide strategic legal advice to guide the company’s business growth while ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
Lee brings over 25 years of legal expertise, including more than 20 years at Citi, where she served as General Counsel for China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business.
Kumar joined Prudential on January 6, while Lee began her tenure on January 27.
