The General Insurance Association of Indonesia (AAUI) has entered into a strategic partnership with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) to bridge the gap in the nation’s actuarial workforce.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between AAUI and UGM’s Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences to foster advancements in education, research, and community service within Indonesia’s insurance sector.
As part of the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate to organize seminars, workshops, and internship programs, aimed at providing students specializing in mathematics and actuarial sciences with practical, industry-specific skills.
This initiative is designed to address the critical shortage of actuarial professionals within Indonesia’s general insurance industry, while also ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements set by the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
