Markel Appoints Galvin Hu as Marine Hull Lead in Singapore

Markel, the insurance division of Markel Group Inc., has appointed Galvin Hu as the new Marine Hull and War lead in Singapore.

In his new role, Hu will be responsible for overseeing Markel’s Marine Hull and War underwriting strategy in the region. He will work closely with the broader Asia-Pacific underwriting team to enhance the company’s marine operations.

Hu brings nearly two decades of experience to the position, having spent 19 years at MS First Capital Insurance Limited. During his tenure, he held the role of Marine Manager and Head of Marine Hull Underwriting.

He will report directly to Wanshi Lin, the head of Markel’s Singapore office.
