Markel Group Inc. has announced the appointment of Alicia Leong as the new Head of Marine Liabilities for its Singapore office.
In her new role, Leong will oversee the Marine & Energy liabilities underwriters based in Singapore and guide strategic direction for teams operating internationally.
Leong’s responsibilities will also include strengthening business pipelines and enhancing relationships with brokers and distribution partners.
As leader of the Marine & Energy liabilities team for the Asia-Pacific region, Leong will play a key role in supporting Markel’s growth and expanding its market presence in the region.
Before joining Markel, Leong spent nearly ten years as a marine liability underwriter at Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets, Syndicate. She will report directly to Wanshi Lin, Head of Singapore.
