A recent survey conducted by Sun Life reveals that 17% of Hong Kong residents have no retirement plan, while nearly half begin their retirement planning only within five years of retirement. The findings, from the company’s “Retirement Reimagined: Facing the Future with Confidence” survey, underscore the need for more proactive financial strategies.
In response to this under-preparedness, Sun Life has introduced its “360 Worry-free Retirement” initiative to encourage individuals to plan ahead for their retirement.
Christine Yeung, General Manager of Life and Health at Sun Life Hong Kong, emphasized the company’s commitment to offering a wide range of retirement solutions. These include the Policy Reverse Mortgage Programme and Reverse Mortgage Programme, both launched last year, which provide clients with consistent income streams in their later years.
Additionally, Sun Life is set to expand its retirement product offerings this year to cater to the diverse needs of retirees.
To support the increasing senior population, the company has also launched the “360 Retire to Excellence Business Hub,” a program designed to enhance the skills of financial advisors through specialized training, client seminars, and workshops.
As part of its efforts to raise awareness about the importance of retirement planning, Sun Life is launching the “Act Now and Plan for a Confident Retirement Future” promotional campaign, running from 25 February to 25 March. The campaign will distribute 30,000 rewards, including dining, grocery, travel, and entertainment vouchers, to encourage individuals to take steps towards securing their financial future.
