Sompo has announced the appointment of Lily Claydon as its new Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, effective 3 March.
In her new role, Claydon will oversee risk management, governance, and analytics across Sompo’s APAC operations. Additionally, she will focus on developing talent within the region to strengthen Sompo’s operational resilience.
Claydon will report directly to Emmanuel Brule, Chief Risk Officer of Sompo International Holdings, and Kenneth Reilly, CEO of Insurance APAC. She will also join the APAC executive team based in Singapore.
Brule praised Claydon’s industry experience and her strong relationships with key stakeholders, noting her ability to drive Sompo’s strategic risk management initiatives in the region. Reilly emphasized that Claydon’s extensive 20-year experience in both public and private risk sectors would significantly enhance the company’s risk management strategies and financial stability.
Claydon brings with her a wealth of experience, having previously held senior risk management positions at AIG, BoltTech Group, and FWD Group. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Double Master of Commerce and International Business from The University of Sydney.
