Doha Insurance Group (DIG), a prominent provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has received approval from the Qatar Central Bank to establish a reinsurance branch in India.
The new branch will be located in Gujarat International Financial Tec-City (GIFT City), a key financial hub in India, and will operate under the “Gift City” international insurance office category, according to an official announcement.
This expansion is a significant step in DIG’s growth strategy, complementing its existing network of regional centers. The company’s other branches have played a pivotal role in boosting its revenues and strengthening its diverse insurance portfolio.
DIG is now in the process of finalizing the necessary procedures and obtaining regulatory approvals from both the Qatar Central Bank and relevant Indian authorities.
As a leading Qatari insurer, DIG offers a broad spectrum of products and services, including property and casualty insurance, life insurance, and health insurance, catering to both individuals and businesses.
