Oona Insurance Indonesia, a leading digital general insurer, has embarked on a significant collaboration with the digital payment platform GoPay and insurance brokerage firm Prodigi. The aim of this partnership is to enhance and expand the reach of health insurance access across Indonesia.
The result of this joint effort is the introduction of GoPay Asuransi, which marks GoPay’s foray into the insurance domain with Oona Indonesia as the sole insurer. This new platform offers a seamless and convenient experience for over 30 million GoPay users. By leveraging the users’ existing GoPay profiles, the insurance buying process has been streamlined. Personal details are pre-filled, and payments can be made effortlessly through the GoPay system. All it takes for users is to answer a few health-related questions to select and purchase their desired insurance plans, making it a quick and hassle-free procedure.
There are two distinct insurance plans available on the GoPay Asuransi platform. The Critical Illness Insurance, which has a starting price of around $310 (Rp5,000), provides substantial lump-sum payouts, reaching up to $6,300 (Rp100m) in the event of a heart attack or cancer diagnosis. The Health Insurance plan, starting at approximately $3,760 (Rp60,000), offers comprehensive coverage for ICU, inpatient, and outpatient care across more than 1,300 hospitals and clinics, with an annual limit of $6,300 (Rp100m). This initiative is set to have a profound impact on the Indonesian insurance landscape, making health insurance more accessible and user-friendly.
