Cambodian Insurers’ Premiums Rise 5.3% in September

Data from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia reveals that the gross premiums of insurers in the country grew 5.3% year – on – year in September, reaching $28.5 million. However, this amount is less than the $32.22 million recorded in August.

In the life insurance industry, there was an 8.7% year – on – year expansion to $17.4 million. The number of policies also saw a positive trend, increasing by 7.5% to 83,208.

For the general insurance sector, the situation was different. Gross premiums were neutral with a 0.3% year – on – year growth to $11.1 million. But the number of policies took a significant hit, dwindling by 19.1% year – on – year to 22,278 during the period.
