Vienna Insurance Group has established a specialized cyber security company, Cyber Risk Solutions GmbH (CyRiSo), concentrating on cyber risk management for small and medium – sized enterprises. This move comes as cyber attacks have emerged as a crucial concern for businesses globally.
Christiana Bruckner and Michael Ganzwohl have been appointed as managers of CyRiSo. Bruckner brings extensive sales and business development experience, having assisted major Austrian and international firms in developing new cyber security – related customer segments and markets. Ganzwohl, with years of cyber security experience in Austria and as a former CEO in the Asia – Pacific region of an international cyber security firm, also adds significant expertise.
CyRiSo offers comprehensive support to reduce cyber risks and handle any damage from cyberattacks. It examines cyber risks holistically for clients and mitigates them effectively with appropriate measures. Its services include consulting and managed services like risk rating, security checks, incident and crisis management, and ongoing information security and data protection management. These risk management services are available to group customers, distribution partners, and third parties. CyRiSo also has countermeasures against prevalent ransomware attacks, involving technical and organizational steps to minimize business interruptions. In case of an attack despite prevention, CyRiSo acts quickly to resolve security incidents.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2024, cyber insecurity is predicted to be a major global risk. Christoph Rath, deputy managing board member of Vienna Insurance Group, said that as a leading insurer in the region, they are dedicated to providing comprehensive solutions. CyRiSo’s launch allows them to offer expertise and support in cyber security to small and medium – sized companies, complementing their insurance products.
