Prudential has announced its decision to implement Google’s MedLM technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of medical insurance claims processing.
The initiative, which will begin in Singapore and Malaysia, involves the use of MedLM to analyze documents submitted with health insurance claims, including diagnostic reports, prescriptions, and invoices.
MedLM is designed to extract relevant information and accurately code it for claims, significantly reducing errors associated with manual data entry. This enhancement is expected to expedite the claims process while increasing accuracy, as stated in a recent press release from Prudential.
As one of the first insurance providers worldwide to adopt MedLM, Prudential is setting a precedent in the industry. MedLM is part of Google’s family of foundational models tailored for the healthcare sector, enabling healthcare organizations to develop solutions for doctors, hospitals, and other medical providers.
