India’s non-life insurance sector recorded a decline of 6.53% in September compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the General Insurance Council of India.
Despite this monthly downturn, the sector has seen a year-to-date increase of 7.02%. General insurers continue to dominate the market, holding an 85.57% share, which marks a slight increase from 85.28% the previous year. In contrast, the share of standalone health insurers has decreased to 10.16%, down from 11.84% in 2023.
