Acquisition strengthens its footprint in Asia
Bridge Specialty International has successfully completed its acquisition of Acorn International Network, a prominent insurance broker headquartered in Singapore. The move is expected to significantly bolster Bridge Specialty’s presence in the region, further expanding its operations in Asia.
Acorn International, founded in April 2011, is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The firm will continue to operate under the leadership of its current chief executive officer, David Ong, who brings more than 45 years of industry experience to the role. Ong is set to remain at the helm as the company navigates this new phase of growth under the Bridge Specialty umbrella.
Commenting on the acquisition, Tim Coles, CEO of Bridge Specialty International, emphasized the strategic importance of the move. He noted that it would not only strengthen the company’s footprint in Singapore but also enhance its expansion plans across Asia.
Bridge Specialty already has a presence in the Asian market through its operations in Hong Kong, where it runs Capstone Insurance Brokers Limited. Capstone specializes in financial lines and digital asset insurance, adding a key dimension to Bridge Specialty’s regional capabilities.
David Ong echoed the optimistic outlook, describing the acquisition as a vital opportunity for Acorn to broaden its range of services and extend its reach both in Singapore and across the broader Asian market.
The acquisition represents a significant milestone for both firms, positioning them for future growth in one of the world’s most dynamic insurance markets.
