Allianz Commercial India has appointed Shweta Gadia as the new head of Financial Lines & Cyber, effective September 23. Based in Mumbai, Gadia will report directly to CB Murali, CEO of Allianz Commercial India, and will also coordinate with Jenny Wilhelm, Regional Head of Financial Lines, Cyber, and Distribution for Allianz Commercial Asia.
In her role, Gadia will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies for Financial Lines, Cyber, and Tech Professional Indemnity in India, while also aligning with the global Line of Business strategy. Additionally, she will manage the local portfolio and supervise underwriting staff.
With 14 years of experience in the insurance industry, Gadia brings a wealth of knowledge in specialty and casualty lines. Her background includes significant expertise in business development, underwriting, and managing complex liability risks. Prior to her appointment at Allianz, Gadia served as Deputy Vice President at HDFC ERGO General Insurance, where she spearheaded the growth of the liability business in Western India, overseeing areas such as Cyber, Venture Capital, Mutual Fund Asset Protection, and Directors & Officers insurance. Her career also includes positions at Tata AIG General Insurance and Mahindra Insurance Brokers.
