Citizens, a regional bank based in Rhode Island, has teamed up with Navan, a travel and expense technology provider, to introduce a new travel management platform for its clients.
The platform integrates travel policies with the booking process, allowing for dynamic policies tailored to each transaction.
It also features corporate cards that enhance policy control, provide valuable expense data, and offer rewards, according to a press release from Citizens on September 10.
Rodrigo Sanchez, head of commercial card solutions at Citizens, stated, “By combining corporate cards with advanced travel management technology, companies can gain greater control over their expenses and maximize their travel spending.”
Michael Sindicich, CEO of Navan Expense, added that the co-branded travel and expense platform is specifically designed for Citizens, providing commercial card customers with a modern T&E solution.
The new system uses an interface familiar to Citizens’ corporate cardholders and incorporates Navan Connect’s card-link technology, launched in June 2023.
For commercial cardholders at Citizens, the platform simplifies the management of travel bookings, expenses, and payments. It offers real-time visibility and actionable insights, while also reducing the administrative workload associated with travel and expense management.
Tim Russo, senior director of global partnerships at Navan, emphasized the importance of partnerships like this one, stating, “Working with a bank like Citizens allows us to combine our strengths and deliver a seamless, comprehensive solution for travelers.”
Navan has previously partnered with Rho to create a unified finance suite for managing corporate travel and expenses. In October, Navan and Citi introduced a new T&E system aimed at providing a seamless digital experience for Citi Commercial Bank cardholders, which supports over 25,000 global commercial card programs and 7 million cardholders worldwide.
