AIA Singapore is celebrating National Day with a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the financial security of Singaporean residents. Starting August 5, the insurance provider will offer six months of free holistic insurance coverage, which includes protection against critical illness, death due to sickness or accidents, and access to teleconsultations through WhiteCoat.
This limited-time offer is available to the first 15,000 Singaporean residents who register, marking a substantial effort to address the notable protection gaps in the nation. AIA Singapore’s initiative seeks to close a 74% gap in critical illness (CI) coverage and a 21% gap in mortality protection, reflecting the company’s commitment to bolstering financial security during challenging times and raising insurance literacy among the public.
Comprehensive Protection and Telemedicine Services
The complimentary insurance package provides vital protection against unforeseen events, including up to S$10,000 for 37 critical illnesses, S$10,000 for death due to sickness, and S$20,000 for accidental death. Beneficiaries will also have access to telemedicine services, allowing them to consult with healthcare professionals remotely via WhiteCoat.
This initiative aligns with AIA Health360, which focuses on four core areas: planning well, protecting well, being well, and living well. AIA Health360 integrates financial planning and digital tools, including AIA+ and AIA Plan360, alongside comprehensive insurance solutions that cater to health, wealth, and lifestyle needs.
Commitment to Bridging the Protection Gap
Irma Hadikusuma, Chief Marketing and Proposition Officer at AIA Singapore, emphasized the company’s dedication to addressing protection gaps. “This initiative builds on the success of our flagship protection products like AIA Guaranteed Protect Plus (IV), AIA Pro Lifetime Protector (II), and AIA Ultimate Critical Cover. Our goal is to encourage more people to take proactive steps to safeguard themselves and their families. We are committed to enhancing the holistic well-being of our society and contributing to a more resilient and thriving Singapore,” Hadikusuma stated.
Addressing the Lack of CI Coverage
A recent study by AIA Singapore highlighted a significant issue: one in four respondents reported having a family member who suffered from cancer without sufficient CI coverage. This lack of protection can impose substantial financial strain on patients and their families during critical illnesses.
The six-month complimentary coverage is available for registration starting August 5 and will close on August 3. Interested individuals can sign up online or consult an AIA insurance representative. Existing customers may register through the AIA+ app.
This initiative represents a proactive step by AIA Singapore in its ongoing efforts to support the community and improve overall health and financial well-being.
