AXA Hong Kong and Macau has entered into an exclusive partnership with HK Express Airways, aiming to streamline the travel insurance process for customers of the low-cost carrier. The collaboration was inaugurated with a recent ceremony, solidifying their commitment to offering tailored protection and a seamless travel experience.
Through this partnership, HK Express customers can now conveniently purchase “HK Express Travel Insurance” by AXA Hong Kong and Macau with a single click while booking flights on the airline’s website. This insurance product includes a range of benefits such as coverage for medical expenses up to HKD500,000, enhanced baggage protection up to HKD6,000 (doubled for travel to Japan), and rental car excess coverage up to HKD3,000 (also doubled for Japan). Additionally, children traveling with their parents receive complimentary coverage, along with access to virtual medical consultations and medicine delivery services in selected cities in Japan.
Kenneth Lai, Chief General Life Insurance Officer at AXA Hong Kong and Macau, emphasized that this partnership allows AXA to enhance its insurance ecosystem, providing a more personalized and seamless travel experience. He highlighted AXA’s commitment to collaborating with industry leaders to meet diverse customer demands, aiming to introduce comprehensive coverage and innovative solutions.
HK Express, a member of the Cathay Group, has been Hong Kong’s sole low-cost carrier since 2013, operating 34 aircraft across 25 routes and expanding its fleet and route network. The partnership with AXA Hong Kong and Macau extends across all markets served by HK Express, including Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Jeanette Mao, CEO of HK Express, underscored the airline’s commitment to offering flexible travel options tailored to individual needs. She noted that the partnership with AXA, marked by displaying AXA’s logo on HK Express’ aircraft livery for the first time, represents a strategic alignment to enhance customer experience and safety.

The collaboration between AXA Hong Kong and Macau and HK Express follows AXA’s recent sponsorship initiatives in Hong Kong, including the sponsorship of an indoor performance and event area at Ocean Park Hong Kong and the entertainment and sports venue “AXA Dreamland.”
