Generali, a prominent player in the insurance sector, has appointed Cécile Paillard as its new group chief transformation officer. Paillard, who brings over twenty-five years of experience in financial services, including notable roles at international insurance firms and most recently as chief executive for the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa regions at Coface Group, will assume her new role from September 2.
In her capacity, Paillard will report directly to General Manager Marco Sesana and spearhead the acceleration of Generali’s transformation initiatives. Her primary focus will be on advancing digitalization and fostering innovation across customer experience and distribution networks. Paillard will also join the group management committee at Generali, underscoring her integral role in shaping the company’s strategic direction.
Sesana emphasized the strategic importance of innovation within Generali’s growth strategy, ‘Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth’, highlighting the transformation process as pivotal to the company’s future trajectory. He expressed confidence that Paillard’s leadership will fortify their commitment to building an innovative, agile, and digitally-driven organization, aimed at delivering enhanced value to customers and stakeholders alike.
Paillard’s appointment coincides with Generali’s recent restructuring into a diversified financial group, emphasizing insurance and asset management as core pillars of its business strategy. This restructuring, implemented in June, is aligned with Generali’s overarching plan to accelerate growth and address key business priorities effectively. It sets a robust foundation for future success, positioning the company to seize forthcoming opportunities and navigate the next strategic cycle with agility and foresight.
