UK-based insurance firm Fenchurch Law is embarking on a significant expansion into the Asian market with the establishment of its inaugural office outside of the United Kingdom, situated in Singapore.
Renowned in the UK for its specialized legal services catering to insurance policyholders and brokers, Fenchurch Law’s move into the international arena is strategically aimed at addressing the legal requirements of policyholders and brokers not only in Singapore but also across the broader Asia-Pacific region. The firm specializes in handling intricate and high-stakes commercial insurance disputes, a niche it has effectively cultivated within the London market since its inception in 2010.
This expansion marks a significant milestone for Fenchurch Law, coinciding with its recent transition to an employee-owned structure through the creation of an employee ownership trust (EOT). Under this pivotal change, 60% of the firm’s equity has been allocated to its employees, positioning Fenchurch Law as a pioneering EOT entity in the Singaporean market.
David Pryce, the firm’s managing partner, emphasized Fenchurch Law’s commitment to bridging the gap between insurance policyholders and their insurers on a global scale. “As a purpose-driven organization, we exist to help level the playing field between policyholders and their insurers. This need is prevalent in insurance markets worldwide, and we are pleased to take the initial step in furthering our mission internationally with the opening of our Singapore office,” stated Pryce.
Singapore, recognized by the industry as a regional hub connecting the insurance and reinsurance sectors of London and Europe, has recently witnessed the establishment of a new operational base by an Australian law firm, underscoring the growing significance of the region in the global insurance landscape.
