The Clear Group has revealed its latest acquisition, Porticus Insurance Consultants Limited, specializing in high-net-worth (HNW) insurance solutions.
Founded in 2003 by managing director Bill Baker, Porticus focuses on providing insurance coverage for high-value properties, luxury vehicles, as well as fine art and jewellery.
Through this acquisition, Baker and his team at Porticus will collaborate closely with Clear Group’s existing staff to enhance the company’s HNW insurance offerings.
Commenting on the deal, Group CEO Mike Edgeley expressed excitement about the addition of Porticus to Clear Group, emphasizing the wealth of experience they bring to the table in HNW insurance.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Bill and his team aboard,” Edgeley stated. “This acquisition underscores Clear’s commitment to supporting smaller brokers and expanding our range of services to clients while bolstering our expertise.”
Similarly, Baker highlighted the strategic fit between the two firms, emphasizing the importance of finding the right home for Porticus and its clients.

Clear Group’s acquisition of Porticus follows its recent announcement of acquiring the entire general insurance book of regional broker P W White & Partners Limited.
