Close Brothers Premium Finance (CBPF) has entered into an exclusive agreement with The Green Insurer, enabling CBPF to provide financing solutions to customers of The Green Insurer seeking to embrace eco-friendly driving practices.
Boasting a substantial customer base of 2.4 million and partnerships with over 1,500 brokers, CBPF is a major player in the premium finance market. The Green Insurer, launched in November, focuses on promoting environmentally conscious driving habits by assessing and offsetting driving emissions. It encourages drivers to adopt fuel-efficient practices or reduce overall driving frequency. Customers accrue points for these green driving habits, redeemable for eco-friendly products.
The car insurance products of The Green Insurer are accessible through various price comparison websites and its official website. This collaboration with CBPF signifies a significant stride in broadening access to environmentally conscious car insurance solutions within the UK market.
Furthermore, The Green Insurer offers an app that enables customers to track their carbon offsets, rewards, journeys, and manage their insurance policies.
Colin Wallace, Director of Personal Lines at CBPF, emphasized the alignment of The Green Insurer’s forward-thinking approach with CBPF’s understanding of challenges faced by brokers and customers.
“As a group, Close Brothers is a signatory of The Net Zero Banking Alliance and is passionate about working with its customers and wider stakeholders on the journey to a net zero future. Being able to support the ambitions of The Green Insurer is therefore incredibly exciting,” Wallace stated.
The Green Insurer’s CEO, Paul Baxter, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing their focus on providing customers with an easy option to purchase green insurance. The exclusive deal with CBPF is anticipated to facilitate the realization of this goal.
In recent developments within the motor sector, research conducted by The Green Insurer revealed that 15% of motorists are contemplating giving up driving within the next year due to escalating costs associated with car ownership and operation.
