Zurich Insurance Group has appointed its next Group Chief Financial Officer.
Subject to regulatory approval, Claudia Cordioli will succeed George Quinn as Group CFO in March 2024. Prior to his departure, Quinn will oversee the completion of Zurich’s annual results for this year and ensure a smooth transition.
Cordioli, who has held Zurich’s top finance post since 2014, will join the insurer’s executive committee. A fellow of the Aspen Institute Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, she was most recently group finance director at Swiss Re.
“I am delighted to welcome Claudia to Zurich,” said Group Chief Executive Mario Greco in a release. “She brings extensive experience in both finance and business functions, coupled with a proven track record of delivering impactful results, building effective teams and driving change.”
Cordioli’s credentials also include time spent at KPMG.
Meanwhile, Greco had this to say about Quinn, who decided to step down for undisclosed reasons: “I would like to thank George for his remarkable contribution to Zurich over the past 10 years, reflected in Zurich’s strong financial position, in particular our robust SST (Swiss Solvency Test), balance sheet and ratings.
“I wish George every success in his future endeavours.
