Global law firm Kennedys has expanded its Australian insurance practice with the appointment of leading insurance specialist Lucinda Lyons as a new partner, effective 18 December.
Lyons has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. She has worked closely with major Australian and UK insurers and reinsurers, brokers, insureds and corporations.
Lyons is an accredited personal injury specialist. Her practice focuses on personal injury, third party property and product liability work. She also advises on historical abuse issues on behalf of insurance companies and other organisations.
Expansion of Australian insurance practice
Lyons, who will be based in Sydney, joins Kennedys from Clyde & Co, where she was managing partner for Australia and head of the firm’s Australian insurance practice. She was also a partner at Connery & Partners and owner and founder of Lee & Lyons prior to joining Clyde & Co.
“Kennedys is a leading global insurance firm and I regularly receive feedback from clients about its market-leading reputation,” said Lyons. “I look forward to working closely with my colleagues at Kennedys to continue to leverage the firm’s network and expertise to deliver high quality solutions and services to our clients.”
Kennedys’ APAC leadership team welcomed Lyons to the firm’s Australian insurance practice.
“I am delighted to welcome Lucinda to Kennedys. Lucinda’s appointment will enable us to build on the work we are already doing with local and international clients,” said Jonathan Wyatt, Kennedys’ Managing Partner in Australia.
“Lucinda is an experienced and highly regarded insurance specialist in the market,” said Matt Andrews, Regional Managing Partner of Kennedys APAC. “I am delighted that she has joined the firm as we continue our regional expansion in APAC.”
Lyons joins Kennedys following the expansion of the firm’s corporate and commercial practice group.
