SCOR Business Solutions has announced the appointment of Holger Schaefer as its new Global Head of Casualty & Environmental Impairment Liability (EIL), effective March 1.
Schaefer, who will be based in Cologne, will report directly to CEO Claire McDonald. He will be responsible for overseeing the casualty teams in the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Schaefer succeeds Daniel Carerras, who transitioned to the role of Chief Underwriting Officer of Casualty for both Insurance and Reinsurance in 2024.
With a distinguished 35-year career at Allianz Group, Schaefer brings a wealth of experience. He previously led AGCS Germany’s casualty underwriting and established the company’s first sales team, later expanding this model globally as the Global Head of Sales & Distribution. Schaefer also served as CEO of AGCS Pacific in Sydney and, most recently, as Regional CEO APAC for Allianz Trade in Hong Kong.
