Aon has announced the appointment of John Neal as Global Chairman of Climate Solutions and Global CEO of Reinsurance.
Neal, who will assume his new position after completing his notice period, will be based in London and will report directly to Andy Marcell, CEO of Risk Capital at Aon. He will also join the firm’s Risk Capital leadership team.
In his new role, Neal will focus on advancing Aon’s strategies for addressing climate-related risks and strengthening the performance of its reinsurance operations.
Neal’s appointment follows his tenure as CEO of Lloyd’s of London, a position he held since 2018. Before leading Lloyd’s, Neal served as Group CEO at QBE and was instrumental in the company’s growth. Additionally, Neal founded Ensign, where he successfully developed the company into a prominent commercial motor underwriter in the UK.
