HDI Global is set to ring in the new year with significant leadership changes. Starting 1 January, Dr. Carsten Schulte will step into the role of the new global head of Marine. This appointment comes as he hands over the reins of the Technical & Strategic Services division, which he has helmed for the past two years, to Alexander Schlei.
Schulte’s tenure at the Technical & Strategic Services division has been marked by notable achievements. He has been instrumental in enhancing underwriting capabilities and establishing a platform for sharing expertise. His prior experience in developing HDI Global’s portfolio steering approach has also been a valuable asset. Now, as he moves to the Marine division, Schulte has his sights set on fueling growth, especially in regions beyond Europe.
Schlei, with over two decades of corporate insurance experience, most recently managed HDI Global’s NatCat division within Technical & Strategic Services. In his new capacity as head of Technical & Strategic Services, he will concentrate on enhancing steering capabilities in Short Tail underwriting and furthering technical excellence. Both Schulte and Schlei will report to Dr. Dirk Höring, a member of HDI Global’s Executive Board who oversees Property, Energy, Engineering, Marine, and HDI Risk Consulting. These appointments signify HDI Global’s strategic maneuvering to strengthen its position in the global insurance market and drive innovation and growth across key divisions.
