People Moves: Marsh Promotes 3, Chubb Expands Merna’s Role

Marsh, part of Marsh McLennan, has named Christopher Lang as digital leader for Marsh Specialty and Global Placement. Lang will lead the digital global insurance placement strategy in this new role. He’s been at Marsh for 30 years in placement leadership positions, most recently as global placement leader in the U.S. and Canada, and is based in New York.

Taking over from Lang are Daniel Aronson, U.S. casualty practice leader, and Michael Rouse, U.S. property practice leader. As co – global placement leaders for the region, they’ll drive Marsh’s global placement strategy in the U.S. and Canada. They’ll remain in New York and continue in their current leadership roles.

Chubb Limited has expanded Matt Merna’s role to include providing risk management solutions to major multinational clients overseas. Merna, who currently oversees Chubb’s retail commercial property and casualty insurance for large U.S. and Canadian accounts, will now assist overseas teams with designing, structuring, and implementing complex risk management solutions for multinational corporations. Merna has nearly 30 years of insurance industry experience, joined Chubb in 2000, and has held various senior leadership positions, including in financial solutions, risk management, and as an executive vice president and COO.
