Prudential Hong Kong has announced a partnership with Guangzhou United Family Hospital (GZU) and Shanghai United Family Hospital (SHU) aimed at streamlining billing services for patients receiving medical treatment at these facilities.
The new Medical Expenses Direct Billing Service is designed to provide a seamless claims process for policyholders, eliminating the need for patients to travel across regions for medical care. This initiative builds on Prudential’s prior collaboration with the Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital, part of the United Family Healthcare (UFH) Group, which includes GZU and SHU.
Under this partnership, Prudential policyholders at GZU and SHU can apply for pre-approval of their medical expenses. This arrangement allows for direct billing between Prudential and the UFH Group upon completion of treatment, significantly easing the financial process for patients.
Additionally, Prudential customers will enjoy priority scheduling for medical consultations and room allocations at both hospitals. They will also have access to specialist referral services for any further medical needs.
To enhance patient care, GZU and SHU will offer transportation services to other UFH hospitals for ongoing treatment and follow-up care.
Prudential’s move reflects a growing demand for hospital partnerships, as indicated by its recent Medical Freedom Survey, which revealed that over 70% of respondents utilized cross-border medical services multiple times a year.
