HDI Global SE has announced the appointment of Michael Ahn as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Hong Kong branch, effective November 1.
Ahn brings over 31 years of extensive experience in the insurance sector, having previously served as Head of Business Solutions for Asia Pacific at SCOR. His expertise includes a strong focus on Commercial and Specialty single risk lines, as well as facultative reinsurance, making him well-suited to lead the branch.
In his new role, Ahn will be tasked with driving the strategic growth of the Hong Kong operation and expanding its portfolio across the region.
Simultaneously, Daniel Lau, who has led the Hong Kong branch for two decades, will transition to a new position as Director of the Asia Pacific Network. With 30 years at HDI Global, Lau has developed business strategies that effectively serve key markets, including Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. In his new role, he will utilize his extensive technical expertise and local market knowledge to enhance the company’s International Programmes throughout the Asia Pacific region.
