International audit, tax and advisory firm Mazars has announced the appointment of Tan Yan Song as a partner in its Singapore office, as part of the firm’s strategy to strengthen its influence in the insurance sector of the financial services industry.
Tan joins Mazars with more than 20 years’ experience in audit and assurance, particularly in the insurance industry. His professional background includes a senior role as regional head of internal audit for a major Japanese insurance group and experience with a Big Four firm.
With a background as a Chartered Accountant of Singapore and a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from Nanyang Technological University, Tan’s in-depth knowledge of insurance-related financial and audit matters makes him a key asset to Mazars, the firm said. His expertise is expected to enhance the firm’s capabilities in the financial services sector, particularly in insurance and asset management.
“Yan Song’s appointment marks a significant milestone for Mazars as it strengthens our offering of unparalleled expertise in the dynamic financial services landscape, particularly in insurance and asset management,” said Rick Chan, Managing Partner of Mazars Singapore. “His wealth of experience and strategic vision will lead us to greater success in meeting the evolving needs of our clients.”
“I am truly honoured to join Mazars as a partner and contribute my experience to enhance the firm’s capabilities in the financial services industry, particularly in insurance and asset management,” said Mr Tan. “Mazars’ commitment to delivering exceptional service aligns with my values. I look forward to contributing to the firm’s success and providing clients with world-class service through innovative, tailored solutions that address the challenges faced by the insurance sector.”
